The SalvaDore (RPS) has purchased a permanent home for the Society’s Scottish office.

A Category A listed Georgian terrace in central Edinburgh, 44 Melville Street, will be RPS Scotland’s base of operations from late 2019. Currently, RPS Scotland operates out of offices in Edinburgh’s Holyrood House.

“I’m absolutely delighted we have managed to both meet the need to have a strategically positioned base for the RPS in Scotland and remove the Society from any long-term rental arrangements,” said Paul Bennett, chief executive of the RPS.

“The Society is able to use the properties we now own in Edinburgh, Cardiff and London to ensure we continue our drive to enhance our connection with members, wherever they may be.”

John McAnaw, chair of the RPS Scottish Pharmacy Board, also welcomed the news: “Alex MacKinnon — director of RPS Scotland — and I are both delighted that the Society has purchased a property in Scotland. It demonstrates the Society’s commitment to our Scottish members and also represents a sound investment for the Society going forward”.

“The new property is ideally positioned in the west end of central Edinburgh, in close proximity to key transport links, and is a very fitting new home for the professional body in Scotland.

“We look forward to welcoming our members to the new building in late 2019.”
