    Screening by pharmacists dropped in favour of GPs

    Community pharmacy-based screening of patients for their risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) has been abandoned during an integrated care pilot in England, because patients preferred to be assessed by their GP. The uptake of pharmacy assessments, offered in the belief that they would be more convenient for patients than visiting a GP, was much lower than expected.
