    More than 34 million illegal medicines were seized in a two-month period under a new initiative to prevent illegal medicines entering the EU.Drugs intercepted in the initiative included antibiotics, anticancer drugs, antimalarials, lipid lowering drugs, painkillers, Viagra and drug precursors such as pseudoephedrine.

    NHS Scotland has reached a settlement with Ranbaxy (UK) Ltd over alleged price-fixing of generic drugs. The company is to pay £1.58m in compensation to the Scottish Government and Scottish health boards on a full and final basis, and without admission of liability. It has also agreed to co-operate with the Government on ongoing claims against other companies.
